Welcome to the TalkTrac website (“Site”), owned and operated by The Meco Group (“we,” “us” or “The Meco Group”).  This policy explains what information we collect and receive from you when you visit our Site (you are a “Visitor”), and how we use it.

By visiting the Site, you signify your assent to this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy may change from time to time, so please check back periodically to ensure that you are aware of any changes.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies only to the information we collect when you use the Site.  It does not apply to information that you provide in the course of using the TalkTrac Services, such as the names of students or teachers; your Subscription and License Agreement covers those situations.

The Information We Collect

When you use the Site, we collect personally-identifiable information (“PII”) and information that is not PII.  PII is any information relating to you from which you can be identified, directly or indirectly, including your name, online identifier such as your IP address or device ID.  We automatically collect your IP address every time you visit our Site.  An Internet protocol (“IP”) address is the unique number assigned to your server or Internet Service Provider (“ISP”).  Visitors also have the option to sign up for our email mailing list provide us with your email address if you sign up for email newsletters or if you contact us via email.  Visitors can also choose to submit questions or comments on our Contact page; you will have to enter your first and last name and email address.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use PII for internal purposes only. We use your IP address to fulfill your webpage requests – we need to know where to send our webpages – and to record Site visits.  We may also use your IP address for system administration, to report aggregate information, or to prevent our servers from being abused.

If you sign up or opt in to receive email from us, we may send you email notices relating to the Site, such as service announcements, and special offers regarding our Services.  You will have the ability to opt-out of receiving email from us at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of our email messages.

If you submit questions or comments, we will answer your questions and add your contact information to our contact list.

How We Share Your PII

We have no plans to share your PII with any other business, except those business partners who help us run our business and the Site, such as our Site hosting service provider.

We may disclose PII in response to legal process, for example, in response to a court order or a subpoena. We also may disclose PII in response to a law enforcement agency’s request, or where we believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service or Subscription Agreement, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our Services and applicable laws, or as otherwise required or permitted by law or consistent with legal requirements.

We reserve the right to transfer all PII in our system in the event that The Meco Group, is sold, merged or otherwise assigned such that control rests with a different entity.

How We Secure Your Information

We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures in an effort to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the information we collect online. However, no Internet, email or other electronic transmission is ever fully secure or error free.  We store your PII only as long as we need it to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.

Your California Privacy Rights

If you are a California resident, California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits you to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, information about the personal information (if any) we disclosed to third parties for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year.  If applicable, this information would include a list of the categories of personal information that was shared and the names and addresses of all third parties with which we shared information in the immediately preceding calendar year.  If you do not want your name and contact information to be shared with any company or organization, you may notify us at any time by writing to us at the email and or regular mail address below.

Our Site does not recognize or respond to browser-initiated Do-Not-Track signals, because the Internet industry is still working on uniform Do-Not-Track standards.

International Visitors

Our Service operates in the U.S. and is targeted only to persons residing in the U.S. and Canada.  If you provide PII, you acknowledge and agree that such data may be transferred by or on behalf of The Meco Group from your current location to the servers we use in the U.S. You also understand that the U.S. may not provide the same level of privacy protections as the laws of your country.

Children

The Meco Group does not knowingly collect PII from children under the age of 13.  If you are under the age of 13, please do not use our Site. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided PII to us through the Site, please contact us as info@talktrac.com and we will attempt to delete that information from our databases.

We also offer you the ability to have inaccuracies corrected within your contact information, by sending us an email or writing to us at the addresses above.

How We May Update our Privacy Policy

From time to time, we may use PII for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our Privacy Policy. If our information practices change we will immediately post any adjustments to our policy on this Site. This will serve as your notification of these changes.
